I decided to join in on the fun this year with a my pair of "husband approved" tofino pants and my son's "toddler tofino remix."
For my pair of tofinos, hereby named the "Oo La La tofinos," I did the side panels in a see through lace and the rest in a slinky black material. I eliminated the piping and the tie belt, and I topstitched the seam allowance so that it wouldn't show through the side panels.
The result was pretty awesome. I was afraid at first that the side panels would show a bit too much skin, (I know I'm not wearing them outside my house, but I'm still modest like that) but it ended up being the perfect coverage. It shows some serious skin, while covering everything that needs to be covered, even when jumping up and down on a bed and swinging a toddler around.
Yay! I don't look like a high schooler in these pyjama pants!
On to the toddler tofino remix...
I wanted to make little man a pair too. I took a pair of well fitting pyjama shorts, and drafted a pattern from them. I added the tofino style piped side panels, and they turned out adorable.
The fabric is leftover from another project that I'm still working on. Hopefully I'll be done with it soon ;)
I think I'm going to make a few more of these (the pants, not the baby!)
Cheers!!
